Algeria, the largest country in the African continent in terms of area, is taking important steps towards sharing the country’s tourism values with the world by making a move in the field of tourism. Inviting 23 European tourism writers and journalists, including Turkey, to its country last week, Algeria showed its guests the tourism values of the country for a week.

A group of 23 people, consisting of writers, researchers and bloggers from countries such as Turkey, Italy, France, Croatia, Finland and Canada, visited cities such as Bechar, Taghit, Beni Abbas and Timimoun, together with Algeria, the capital of the country with the same name.

The group went from the capital Algeria to Bechar by domestic flight, and from there to Taghit and Beni Abbas by bus, where they visited the fauna and The Prehistoric Museum and watched the sunset in the Great Sahara Desert. Especially the rock engravings dating back thousands of years found in the Taghit region impressed the guests.

The group, which examined the water sharing systems, Kerzaz Oasis and date gardens, toured the ancient city, which is located in the city center and has been in use since the 5th century.

ALGERIA TOURISM FAIR

Another development that crowned the trip was the combination of the trip with the Tourism Fair, which took place between 22-30 September 2022. The Algerian Tourism Fair, which has been held since 2003, but could not be held for the last three years due to the pandemic, opened its doors with the guests of the group.
