Famous tourism professional from Izmir, Emre Gezgin was elected as the president of the SKAL Federation (USDF), one of the most important civil society organizations of tourism professionals.
As a result of the USDF Elective General Assembly hosted by SKAL International Marmara Club and held at Novotel Istanbul Zeytinburnu Hotel; SKAL Turkey – International Federation of SKAL Associations (USDF), which was founded in 1934, has 308 clubs in 86 countries in the world and has over 12 thousand members, and is represented by over 800 distinguished tourism professionals consisting of managers of 16 clubs and nearly 60 tourism components in Turkey; SKAL Izmir Club Member, Founder of Vispo Travel Travel Agency and Founder of Izmir City Council Tourism Group Emre Gezgin was unanimously elected as the President.
Since 1989, USDF President Emre Gezgin, who has been providing uninterrupted service in different areas of the tourism sector, emphasized the contribution of SKAL’s umbrella organization advantage in terms of NGOs to mutual cooperation in projects aimed at strengthening professional cooperation between association members and tourism development during his previous duties as general secretary and first vice president under the federation roof. Gezgin expressed his gratitude to the delegates who unanimously elected him to this honorable position, USDF Past President Orhon Atameriç and the board of directors with whom he worked together.

Emre Gezgin, who is the first president elected from Izmir since the establishment of the federation, also thanked the members of SKAL Izmir Club and respectfully remembered Karel Dutilh and Joe Keşişyan, who served as National Committee Presidents in the past periods and are no longer with us today. Following the elections, the chain change ceremony and gala dinner organization, which started with wishes of health, brotherhood, friendship and long life specific to SKAL, was attended by over 100 representatives of USDF affiliated clubs and guests.
