The tourism season opened at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mount Nemrut, located within the borders of Adıyaman’s Kahta district.

Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism teams and Perre Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School students distributed carnations to visitors at Mount Nemrut, known as “the most beautiful place where the sunrise and sunset are watched”, and explained the importance of the ruins.

Deputy Governor Mehmet Tığlı told reporters that he wished the tourism season to be auspicious.

Stating that they expect intense visitors to the region this year, Tığlı said, “Within the scope of Tourism Week activities, we distributed carnations to our visitors at Mount Nemrut with students. During the 9-day holiday, our city hosted 45 thousand visitors. This is a very big destination, we are proud to host local and foreign tourists.”

Erkan Ölmez, one of the visitors, stated that he came to Mount Nemrut from Istanbul to watch the sunset.

Frenchman Simon Pusebesti said that he had difficulty climbing Mount Nemrut and was very impressed by the giant statues.
