With the special permission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the 11th annual religious service has begun this year at the church located on Akdamar Island in Lake Van.
Religious officials and visitors who came to participate in the service were transported to the island from Gevaş Pier by boats.
Turkey’s Armenian Patriarch Sahak Maşalyan, Deputy Patriarch Father Şirvan Mürzyan, and Priest Hovagim Seropyan, who arrived on the island with the religious officials, had a conversation with visitors for a while.
After the preparations were completed, Seropyan conducted the religious service. Many people watched the service presided over by Maşalyan.
