Deciding to expand abroad after receiving persistent offers, Sekerci Cafer Erol, one of Turkey’s century-old brands, opened its second store in London after opening its first store abroad in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The opening ceremony of the store, located in one of the liveliest spots in Knightsbridge, where many international brands and restaurants are located, right next to the world-famous brand Harrods, was attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to London Osman Koray Ertas, travel writer Saffet Emre Tonguc, and travel writer Serda Büyükkoyuncu, as well as many Turkish and foreign guests.
“WE AIMED TO INTRODUCE TURKISH CULTURE TO THE WORLD”
The project, which was implemented with an investment of approximately 180 million TL, was the first step of the brand’s expansion into Europe. Underlining that their investment in London was not only a commercial but also a cultural investment, Hakan Erol, the 5th generation representative of the brand, said; “We aimed to keep the Turkish palate alive with the most valuable flavors of our 218-year heritage and to introduce Turkish culture to the world. We are determined to continue this in the best way.”
EXPERIENCED STAFF OF 65 PEOPLE
Sekerci Cafer Erol, which will bring together the most exquisite examples of Turkish desserts with its guests in its London store with a store concept unique to the brand, will serve here with an experienced staff of 65 people consisting of experienced chefs as well as personnel who have received training in adaptation to the local culture.
