Malta is preparing to host its first international contemporary art biennial titled “Maltabiennale.art” in the spring of 2024.

Due to its central location in the heart of the Mediterranean and its significance in European political events, Malta aims to use this biennial to question the current issues in the Mediterranean and provide a completely new perspective on the future through the vision of artists.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Malta Tourism Office, a call has been made on behalf of MUŻA, the National Community Art Museum, Heritage Malta, and the Malta Arts Council, bringing together artists from 6 continents and 65 different countries for this art festival.

Historical Sites on the Island Will Be Transformed Into Stages for Artists

This first international contemporary arts biennial, promising to be the standout cultural event in the region in 2024, coincides with the island’s rich cultural heritage in March and May 2024.

The biennial, where grand palaces, churches, fortresses, and open spaces will be turned into stages for artistic creation, will host exciting cultural encounters.

Malta, a heir to a rich history of cultures in the Mediterranean since the dawn of civilization, invites all art enthusiasts to be a part of this enchanting experience.
