FIJET’s 63rd congress held in Tunisia

The congress of the World Federation of Tourism Writers and Journalists (FIJET), which is held in a different country every year, was held in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, this year.

“My Beloved TunIsIa”

Nearly 200 FIJET members from different regions of the world attended the congress. “My Beloved Tunisia”, determined as the motto for the 2023-2024 period by FIJET World President Tijani Haddad, was met with great interest by the participants.

The congress held at the Sheraton Tunis Hotel was moderated by Asma Jerbi from the Tunisian Radio and Television Corporation. At the opening of the congress, Tunisian Minister of Tourism, Mohammed Al Moez Belhassine, made a speech after a multivision screening about the historical features of Tunisia.

Speaking after the Minister of Tourism, FIJET World President Tijani Haddad emphasized that tourism should not be perceived as just traveling; “Tourism also makes important contributions to peace. This should never be ignored,” he said.
