We have been in Tunisia for a week for the 63rd Congress of the World Federation of Tourism Writers and Journalists (FIJET). In this way, we had the opportunity to travel almost throughout the country. We will tell you about all of them, write about them on the pages of TOURMAG Tourism Magazine and our web news portals, and share them on our social media accounts.
25 HOTELS, 20 THOUSAND BED CAPACITY
First of all, we would like to talk about the Tunisian city of Mahdia. We can say that this region, which greets the calm waters and sun of the Mediterranean, reminded us of Turkey’s Foça and Urla districts in 1980-90’s. Mehdia, which has been open to tourism since the 1990s, is also an agricultural and university city. Mehdia Tourism Office Manager Mohsen Boussaffa, with whom we had a mini interview, stated that they have 25 hotels and 20 thousand bed capacity in the region, and that they aim to increase this to 50 hotels and 40 thousand bed capacity in the coming years.
GERMANY, RUSSIA, POLAND
Pointing out that Germany, Russia and Poland are the top three countries in the tourism potential of the region, Boussaffa said; “We have been organizing the International Mahdia Nature Festival since 1995. We are hosting visitors from many countries of the world in this festival, which is held every year between 25 July and 15 August.”
