Cappadox hosted 10 thousand people

Music, contemporary art, gastronomy and outdoor festival Cappadox, which is held this year, welcomed exactly 10 thousand people from America to China, Japan to Brazil. Cappadox’s theme, which brings national and international contemporary artists and productions inspired by Cappadocia with art lovers together, is ”silence” this year.

The first Cappadox, which was launched in 2014 and organized by Pozitif with the main sponsorship of Volkswagen; also with supports from Garanti Bank, Fizy, Lifecell, Columbia, Levi’s, Kendine Has, About Nights and TV+, the participants had unforgettable experiences for six days. A large number of participants came from USA, Japan, China, Brazil, France, Germany and Italy to the festival.

GREAT INTEREST TO WORKSHOPS AND EXHIBITIONS

This year Cappadox, which has been spreading to these three towns with the support of Uçhisar, Göreme and Ortahisar municipalities, has 141 events in total consisting of live music, contemporary art exhibitions, art performances, workshops, gastronomic tastings, hikings, bicycle tours, jogging, yoga, meditation. 9 contemporary art performance and 65 workshops took place in 21 different venues. Workshops in the area of the marketplace, which there are local artisans, also attracted interest.

WORLD-FAMOUS ARTISTS MET IN CAPPADOCIA

In the music program, which contains all colors of music such as jazz, rock, folk, electronic, Turkish folk music and world music, there were 31 concerts with sunrise concerts. Mulatu Astatke, İlhan Erşahin’s İstanbul Sessions, Yaza Ahmed, Gaye Su Akyol, Ala.ni, Hey! Douglas, Nicola Cruz, Ceylan Ertem, Birsen Tezer, Kalben, Erkan Oğur Quartet, BaBa ZuLa, Ahmet Aslan, Christian Löffler,  Mercan Dede, Gigi Masin, Dijf Sanders, Chihei Hatakeyama, Flamingods, Fontan, The Dwards of East Agouza, Populous, Cero39, Mousike, TSU!, Islandman and Duman were there. Live performances were exhibited in the unique places of Cappadocia, which are combined with the geography of the region. Sometimes the audiences sang songs that echoed in the valleys.
